Organic Mountain Water Decaf

Decaf coffee.

What happens in the Decaf process?  When you stop to think about how a coffee bean could have one of its primary elements stripped away and still taste good...how does that actually work?  What happens?  And what is involved in making still taste so good.

Mountain Water Process Decaffeination is a unique, natural process; using the clear, pure water from the glaciers on the highest and most beautiful mountain in Mexico, the Pico de Orizaba or Citlatepet.

In basic terms the process works by immersing the green beans in water in order to extract the caffeine content. The water preserves the soluble flavour components of the green beans and this protects the original characteristics of the coffee.

The resulting green coffee is 99.9% caffeine-free. The beans are then dried to the required moisture content prior to importation.

We roast the decaf slightly darker than our usual coffee.  Resulting in a smooth low acidic coffee with good body.
